Four Graphics Capable Notebooks Ready For Business

Our Review In A Nutshell

Left to right, top to bottom: Fujitsu LifeBook E8210, Gateway E-100M, HP Compaq nx7400, Lenovo ThinkPad T60

At the bottom of this page you'll find slide shows for each of the four notebooks and an slide show with MobileMark 2005, PCMark05, 3DMark05 and 3DMark06 benchmark charts for the notebooks.

We selected four somewhat different notebooks for this review. The Fujitsu and HP computers are larger and heavier. The Lenovo is a bit smaller. All three have similar speed Core Duo CPUs. The Gateway is noticeably smaller and lighter and it's less power hungry with its ultra low voltage Core Solo CPU. Graphics capabilities are also different. Two of the four notebooks have discrete ATI graphics processors. The other two have integrated Intel graphics processors.

There is no one winner in this review. To determine which of these notebooks might be most appropriate for your needs, you have to check out the features of each, look at our performance tests and examine our findings regarding display brightness and contrast.

Be sure to check out the next page for a discussion of the differences between consumer and business notebooks.
