Hands-on With the Secretive Moto DROID 2 Global

The Motorola Droid 2 Global is real and it will be on Verizon. No, it hasn't been announced yet by Big Red, but honestly, it's almost a sure thing that the Droid 2 Global will be hitting Verizon fairly soon.

We know this because we went hands on with the Droid 2 Global this week when we had a chance to visit with Motorola at a recent media event. We got to handle the Droid 2 Global in the flesh, and there are a few physical features that set it apart from the current Droid 2.

One thing immediately noticeable from first inspection is that there is a slight bulge at where the camera is on the back. While Engadget believes that is due to the camera being just a hair slimmer than the Droid 2, the representative we spoke to told us that it was also because of a higher-quality sensor for the 5 megapixel autofocus camera.

It's already running Android 2.2, but modified with Motorola's Blur. Everything felt very snappy thanks to the modern software, which is no doubt helped along by the current-fastest 1.2GHz processor.
