16 Camera Apps, Tested

Diptic costs $0.99 and is available on iOS. The app is easy and intuitive – it lets you create cool-looking collages. You start by selecting from 52 standard layouts, and you can also use frame sliders to adjust the size of any frame, giving you virtually unlimited customization options. Then drop your photos into the collage, and you can choose from 14 filters and change the shape of the borders. Earlier iterations of the app only offered sharing by e-mail, but now you can share on Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, and Tumblr. It can also export directly to other apps that support JPEG images, like Instagram, Camera+, Dropbox, and many others.

Usability: 4. Fairly easy interface, considering that there are many more ways to place photos than with a typical app.

Filters: 3. There are 14, which isn’t bad, but again, this isn’t the focus of the program.

Fun Features/Extras: 4. You can adjust color, brightness, and contrast to create similarity across your project.

Ease of Sharing: 5. Most sharable!
