The first story-based downloadable content (DLC) package for "BioShock Infinite," called "Burial at Sea," now has a solid release date. If you're ready to continue the adventures of Booker DeWitt and Elizabeth Comstock, set aside some time on Nov. 12.
Rather than return to Columbia, the flying city from "BioShock Infinite," Booker and Elizabeth will explore Rapture, the underwater libertarian dystopia from the original "BioShock." Given that Rapture is a fan-favorite setting, gamers have been eager for the DLC ever since developer Irrational Games first announced it.
The announcement came via the Irrational Games Twitter feed. The developer explained that "Burial at Sea" will cost $14.99 as a stand-alone adventure, but will also be available as part of the game's Season Pass for $19.99.
The Season Pass also includes the existing "Clash in the Clouds" DLC, which pits Booker and Elizabeth against hordes of increasingly difficult enemies without any narrative, as well as a few minor bonuses for the single-player game.
"Burial at Sea" will release for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on the same day, and the price will remain consistent across platforms. Interested players can purchase it from within the game, or directly from digital distribution platforms like Xbox Live, PlayStation Network and Steam.
The game looks like a promising purchase for anyone who appreciates a good 1940s film-noir story, but players will get to try it out themselves on Nov. 12. Stay tuned for further coverage from Tom's Guide once the game launches.
