YouTube is teaming up with director Kevin Macdonald (The Last King of Scotland, Touching the Void and One Day in September), producer Ridley Scott (Gladiator Black Hawk Down, Thelma & Louise, Blade Runner and Robin Hood) and LG Electronics for a global film project entitled, "Life in a Day."
The project is part of LG's long-standing "Life's Good" campaign and aims to show a single day through the eyes of as many people as possible. The idea is that all entrants shoot footage on the same day, July 24, and submit it within the week. Once the July 31 closing date has passed, director Kevin Macdonald and executive producer Ridley Scott will take the most compelling footage and edit it into a feature documentary film.
The movie will be shown at Sundance 2011 and if your footage appears in the film, you'll be credited as co-director and 20 contributors will be chosen to attend the festival.
