Xbox 360 Spring Update Starts Rolling Out

Microsoft's Major Nelson has confirmed that the Xbox 360's spring update is rolling out to a select few users this week. Those that don't see the update this week will get it next week instead.

Larry Hryb, Director of Programming for Microsoft's Xbox Live, today took to Twitter to confirm that some users are seeing the spring system update hit their consoles already. Hryb didn't provide much in the way of details as far as what's in the update, but he did mention behind the scenes improvements and preparation for future enhancements.

So it's left up to us to wonder what future enhancements Hryb is referring to. Microsoft announced a whole host of new features for Xbox Live at E3 in Los Angeles last week. This included SmartGlass; Internet Explorer's arrival on the Xbox; the launch of Xbox on Windows 8; Xbox Music, a new music service that Microsoft has just announced for the  360; and Nike+ Kinect training.
