You might have seen an unofficial sneak peek of this phone earlier in the week. Dubbed the Droid X, the preview revealed a huge 4.4-inch, FWVGA (854x480) display; an 8-megapixel camera with flash (capable of shooting video in 720p); Android 2.1; a multitouch keyboard; a 1GHz ARMv7 processor; 8GB of storage; and special battery management software. Yesterday, Verizon confirmed the phone's existence by launching its dedicated Droid X product page.
With a big 'coming soon' underneath, the Motorola Droid X is flanked by the already available Motorola Droid and HTC Droid Incredible. So far the only details we've been able to glean from the homepage was confirmation of the giant screen (though it's actually 4.3-inches instead of the 4.4-inches we heard on Tuesday), the ability to shoot video in 720p and HDMI.
Verizon is expected to give the Droid X a proper unveiling on June 23, which is next Wednesday, so stay tuned for more!
