Memo Details Sony PlayStation Store Relaunch

While there’s still no official word on when the Store will be coming back, an inside memo sent to publishing partners and devs suggests that the relaunch is scheduled for next Tuesday, May 24. The memo, obtained by Gamasutra, details Sony’s plans to do two "content pushes" per week for the next two weeks in order to catch up with the backlog. The first will coincide with the store’s May 24 reopening and will distribute content that was scheduled to publish April 26. May 27 will bring another round of games, these titles originally scheduled for a May 3 publishing.

"We thank you for your patience as we work to resume service of the PlayStation Store," Gamasutra cites PSN content manager Jack Osorno as saying in the letter. "If there are concerns, we are willing to consider adjusting the release date of your content on this schedule," Osorno added. "Adjustments will be made on a case by case basis."

The news means Sony is well on its way to meeting its goal of having the PlayStation Network fully operational before the end of the month. PSN and Qriocity services were taken offline on April 20 following a series of sophisticated attacks on Sony’s network.
