We already know that the Lara Croft we're going to see in next year's Tomb Raider title is going to be very different from any other Lara we've seen in previous titles. Today, Square Enix finally put a name to the voice we'll be hearing in the game. According to Crystal Dynamics, our new Lara is England's Camilla Luddington. Luddington will provide the voice for Lara as doing motion capture work for the cut scenes in the game. The big reveal came via the official Tomb Raider Facebook fan page.
"We're very excited to finally reveal the voice & performance talent behind Lara Croft in Tomb Raider – English-born actress Camilla Luddington," the studio said. "Finding Camilla was no easy task, as it took an international talent search across Europe and the US to find the actress to deliver the right emotion and tone for the character."
Ms. Luddington has appeared in Californication as well as True Blood and a made-for-TV movie about the relationship between Kate Middleton and Prince William. She will appear at Comic Con and Nerd HQ next month to discuss her role as Lara Croft.
