Amazon Caves to Pressure, Pulls Pedophile Book

Yesterday evening, TechCrunch reported that among the Kindle books available on Amazon was 'The Pedophile's Guide to Love and Pleasure.' Just in case there was any confusion as to what this book is about, here's the description:

"This is my attempt to make pedophile situations safer for those juveniles that find themselves involved in them, by establishing certian rules for these adults to follow. I hope to achieve this by appealing to the better nature of pedosexuals, with hope that their doing so will result in less hatred and perhaps liter sentences should they ever be caught."

As you can imagine, all reviewers of this book gave it a one star rating and lambasted Amazon for even selling it. Many posted screenshots of online chats with Amazon reps who all gave a combination of the following lines when asked about removing the book from e-shelves:

Amazon believes it is censorship not to sell certain books simply because we or others believe their message is objectionable.  Amazon does not support or promote hatred or criminal acts, however, we do support the right of every individual to make their own purchasing decisions.

TechCrunch also received the same statement.

However, in an about face, Amazon has removed the book. However, thanks to all the controversy, right before it was removed, the book hit the site's best-seller list, entering at number 80. Before it was pulled, it was priced at around $5.
