The Sleek 4G-V improves connectivity in areas of Verizon's 700 MHz LTE service and can be used to boost the 2G and 3G signals from all other carriers in the 800 MHz and 1900 MHz frequency bands, Wilson said today. According to the company, the Sleek 4G-V provides more than 20 times the power of a typical cell phone signal.
Priced at $150, the signal booster is scheduled to be available in the second quarter of this year and will be offered with an optional accessory kit that enables users to amplify signal to 4G wireless hotspots such as the Verizon JetPack. The Sleek 4G-V will not be offered by Verizon, but sold via "most" Wilson resellers.
The device measures just 2.5 by 4.5 by 2.5 inches in size and weighs about three ounces. Wilson says the "do-it-yourself installation" is doable in a matter of minutes.
