This is billed as a Labor Day mattress sale, but it actually runs pretty much constantly. It's still great value though. As with all the best mattress brands, Bear offers a mattress trial (120 nights), along with a limited lifetime warranty. The best Bear mattress deals this month

Bear Original mattress: $748$487 + free bedding at Bear

Bear Original mattress: was $748 now from $487 + free bedding at Bear
The Original is the cheapest of the Bear lineup, with a pared-back, all-foam design. In our Bear Original mattress review, we praised the motion isolation and value for money. At 7/10 on the firmness scale, it's a good choice for anyone who likes a bit more support from their mattress, including stomach or back sleepers who want to ensure their spine stays correctly aligned. We found this bed sleeps a little warm, so check out one of the other options if you're already prone to overheating at night. Head to Bear for 35% off, plus free bedding bundle. A queen is $649 with this offer.

Bear Elite mattress: $1,721$1,119 + free accessories at Bear

Bear Elite mattress: was $1,721 now from $1,119 + free accessories at Bear
The 14" tall Elite sits at the top of Bear's range. The hybrid design includes copper-infused memory foam and coils, as well as a cooling cover. It's the only model where you can choose your firmness preference (soft, medium or firm), which means it can be customized to suit any sleep style. In our Bear Elite Hybrid mattress hands-on review, we found the combination of padded top tier and slightly firmer layer underneath made this mattress comfortable in any position. The current deal knocks 35% off, which takes the price of a queen size down to $1,373. You'll get a free sleep accessories bundle, including pillows, sheet set and mattress protector, too.

Star Hybrid mattress: $1,298$844 + free bedding at Bear

Star Hybrid mattress: was $1,298 now from $844 + free bedding at Bear
The 13" Star is the most popular Bear mattress. This medium-firm hybrid has a cooling cover, copper-infused memory foam and encased coils (compared to the high-end Elite, you're losing the zoned support layer). Bear recommends it to those who sleep hot, or are looking specifically for pressure relief. The current offer knocks 35% off ticket price, which means a queen size is $1,126.

Bear Pro Hybrid mattress: $1,035 $673 +bedding bundle at Bear

Bear Pro Hybrid mattress: was $1,035 now from $673 +bedding bundle at Bear
The second-cheapest, second-firmest model in the lineup is the Bear Pro Hybrid. This 10" tall model promises durable support and contouring. The encased coils promote airflow through the mattress, but overall the cooling tech isn't as good as you'll find in the pricier Star and Elite models. In the current deal, 35% off means a queen is $844, with a big bundle of bedding thrown in for free.

Which Bear mattress should you buy?

There are currently four Bear mattresses to choose from:

The Bear Original mattress is the brand's entry-level option. It retails for between $748 and $1,622, although you'll seldom ever pay full price thanks to regular sales. features three layers of memory foam and suits any sleep position. A hybrid version of the Bear Original exists, which adds a layer of 6-inch, individually-wrapped coils.

The Bear Pro mattress features more enhanced cooling tech than the Original and therefore costs more. It has an extra layer of copper foam and features a gel layer. If you're on the hunt for a cooling mattress but don't want to give up the hugging sensation of foam, you'll want to check this one out, although it's currently part of a closeout sale which suggests the brand may be phasing it out.

For extra edge support and a more traditional spring feel, the Bear Hybrid mattress offers a more "luxury hotel mattress feel". While it costs far more than Bear's full-foam options, it's roughly what you'd expect to pay for an upper-mid-range hybrid mattress. (A queen retails for $1,732 before discounts.)

The latest addition to the lineup is the Bear Elite Hybrid mattress. This is the brand's premium option, offering three varying levels of firmness, a cool-to-the-touch phase-change top cover and 5-zoned ergonomic support. Prices start at $1,721 for a twin before any coupons.

If you're unsure of which Bear mattress to buy, you can take the brand's sleep quiz to find out which model will best suit your needs and budget.

Bear Original Mattress

The cheapest Bear mattress you can buy

Sizes: 7 (twin to split king) | Firmness (1-10): 7 (medium-firm) | Depth: 10 inches | Turn: No | Material: Foam and memory foam | Trial: 120 nights | Warranty: Lifetime | RRP: $748 - $1,622

An affordable foam mattress
Suits all types of sleepers
Great motion isolation
Not particularly cooling
Some may find it too firm

The Bear Original is a 10-inch, 3-layer foam mattress. It includes a base layer of supportive foam to prevent sagging and create a medium-firm finish, a layer of Bear Dynamic Foam to alleviate pressure and provide support, and a top layer of cooling gel-infused memory foam to help draw away heat.

In our Bear Original mattress review, we found it comfortable to sleep on regardless of whether we rested on our back, front or side. (But lighter individuals may need time to break it in as it's on the firmer side.) Despite the gel-infused foam layer and a breathable quilt cover, it's not particularly cooling. However, the Bear Original is aces when it comes to edge support and motion isolation.

This mattress comes in six sizes, from twin to Cal king, as well as a split king option. Like most mattresses, the Bear Original has not been immune to inflation-induced cost increases, but it's still rather affordable – especially considering its frequent sales. Right now, a queen is marked down to $699 (regularly $998.)

Bear Pro Mattress

A great cooling mattress with copper-infused foam

Sizes: 7 (twin to split king) | Firmness (1-10): 6.5 (medium-firm) | Depth: 12 inches | Turn: No | Material: Foam and memory foam | Trial: N/A | Warranty: 5 years | RRP: $1,364 - $2,930

Great for hot sleepers
Designed for muscle relief
Contains copper (anti-microbial)
Limited edge support
May be phased out soon

The Bear Pro mattress is ideal for providing pressure relief and a cool night's sleep. It's particularly good for athletes and side and back sleepers should benefit from its extra layer of comfort and support. Its copper foam layer works to diffuse heat in the night, and it's also an effective antimicrobial, so you don't have to worry about any nasties in your mattress. (But you'll still want to wrap it in a mattress protector.)

Available in twin to Cal king (plus a split king), this mattress retails from $1,364. However, a current closeout sale is knocking 50% off the MSRP, dropping the starting price to $682. Of course, this comes with a few caveats. You won't be able to return or exchange the mattress. It also comes with a 5-year warranty, as opposed to the lifetime warranty other Bear mattresses come with.

It's likely Bear is phasing this model out, hence the steep markdown. But their loss will be your gain if you want a serviceable all-foam cooling mattress at a remarkably low price.

Bear Hybrid Mattress

Bear's best-selling mattress

Sizes: 7 (twin to split king) | Firmness (1-10): 7 (medium-firm) | Depth: 13 inches | Turn: No | Material: Foam, memory foam and coils | Trial: 120 nights | Warranty: Lifetime | RRP: $1,298 - $2,796

Reinforced edge support
Great temperature regulation
Balance of firm and plush
It's expensive
Some find it too soft

The Bear Hybrid mattress is currently the brand's best-seller. Topped with cooling gel foam and a transitional layer for added support, this mattress also features an edge coil system, with individually encased springs for a classic coil feel. Underneath these coils lies a layer of supportive base foam to take the pressure off your bed frame.

Although all Bear mattresses feature some sort of cooling technology, the Bear Hybrid claims that its coils will transfer heat 28% better than memory foam to keep you cool through the night. It's also better on edge support thanks to its edge coil system, and it's Greenguard Gold Certified for having fewer harmful chemicals.

It's not the priciest of Bear's offerings, but it's close to the top of the list. A queen retails for $1,732 before discounts. If you're seeking something more supportive and cooling than foam alone, the Bear Hybrid could be what you need.

Bear Elite Hybrid Mattress

Bear's top-of-the-line mattress

Sizes: 7 (twin - split king) | Firmness (1-10): 5 (soft), 6 (medium) or 7 (firm) | Depth: 14 inches | Turn: No | Material: Foam, memory foam, encased coils and reinforced edge coils | Trial: 120 nights | Warranty: Lifetime | RRP: $1,721 - $3,565

Comes in three firmness levels
Phase-changing cover
Superior edge support
Bear's priciest mattress yet
May be too tall for shorter people

If you want Bear's most premium bed, here it is – the Bear Elite Hybrid. Released in 2022, the Elite Hybrid aims to provide superior cooling, top-tier edge support and excellent motion isolation so couples can sleep soundly. It's also the only one of Bear's mattresses to offer varying levels of firmness. You can choose from a soft, medium or firm feel.

This lofty 14-inch bed consists of six layers, ranging from copper-infused foam (for cooling) to dynamic transition foam (for pressure relief). There's also a layer of encased pocketed coils for balanced support, as well as reinforced edge coils so you can take up as much space as possible and still feel secure. On top is a phase-changing hand-quilted cushion cover that's cool to the touch.

Naturally, all of these enhanced features come at a cost, even when it's on sale. A queen Bear Elite Hybrid is currently discounted to $1,478. But if you're after the best bed Bear has to offer, it'll surely be worth the investment.
