Zach's journey will undoubtedly be filled with a lot of drama because, well, that's what this franchise does. We'll have to wait and see if the show introduces any new twists or concepts. At the very least, there's sure to be at least one woman who's not there for the right reasons. And let's hope for another sighting of his celebrity uncle, Patrick Warburton (aka Puddy from Seinfeld).

ABC has set the The Bachelor 2023 premiere date for Monday, January 23 on ABC. As usual, episodes of The Bachelor will run from two hours, from 8 to 10 p.m. ET/PT. 

Who is The Bachelor Zach Shallcross?

Zach Shallcross is a 26-year-old tech executive originally from Anaheim Hills, California who is now living in Austin, Texas. 

He was a contestant on The Bachelorette season 19, which featured two leads for the first time ever: Rachel Recchia and Gabby Windey. Zach was one of Rachel's contestants and received the first date card. They had a strong connection and he made it to the final three, but self-eliminated after an awkward fantasy suite date. 

Rachel admitted, "I was trying to find that missing piece for me. I did think if we spent the night talking I could find it."

In response, Zach said, "I did really love you. I saw a future with you. But I need to go."

During the Bachelorette After the Final Rose special, Zach was announced as the next Bachelor. He also met five contestants live on stage. 

In his ABC bio, Zach is described as "an old-fashioned romantic" who "loves his mama, his dogs and football but promises he has more love to go around! He's charismatic, personable and has a huge heart that he is so ready to share forever with the right woman."

His perfect woman is "compassionate, kind and ready for romance because Zach is excited to lay it on thick."

The Bachelor 2023 filming locations

Last year's Bachelor season 26 (Clayton Echard) was the first to return to the Los Angeles mansion where almost all previous installments of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette have filmed for the first few weeks. The pandemic had resulted in "bubble" seasons for Clare Crawley, Tayshia Adams, Matt James and Katie Thurston. 

Zach's season also started out at the famous Villa de La Vina mansion in Agoura Hills, California.

Clayton Echard is a 28-year-old medical sales rep from Columbia, Missouri. He played football as a walk-on at the University of Missouri, where he helped the team win back-to-back SEC championship games. Clayton went on to play briefly in the NFL for the Seattle Seahawks. 

Now, he works in medical sales and is getting his MBA in the hope of starting his own business. His mother is a teacher, which Clayton mentioned several times in his time on The Bachelorette (since Michelle is also a teacher).

His Bachelorette profile says he "has it all — good looks, a great job and a wonderful family. The only thing missing is the perfect woman with whom to share his life."

Clayton describes his dream woman as "funny, independent, intelligent and athletic enough to join him at the gym for a workout."

ABC finally confirmed what everyone knew — that Clayton is the next Bachelor — with a first look teaser trailer that aired after Michelle's hometown dates episode. 

It kicks off with a bunch of women screaming "Clayton!" and then moves on to shots of a shirtless Clayton running down the beach, Baywatch-style. The Bachelor 2022 filming locations

For the first time since Peter Weber's season of The Bachelor in 2020, the show returned to the iconic mansion in Los Angeles for the first weeks of filming Clayton's installment.

The pandemic forced both The Bachelor and Bachelorette to film in "bubbles" at resorts. Clare Crawley, Tayshia Adams, Matt James and Katie Thurston all filmed entirely in one location. Michelle's season was the first to travel to more than one place.

Clayton's season seems to be going "back to normal." The show will start out at the famous Villa de La Vina mansion in Agoura Hills, California. Spoiler photos have indicated that Clayton and the contestants will then travel to Houston, Texas and Toronto, Canada.  

The cast will then head overseas to Vienna, Austria and Croatia. Clayton and his final four women will go on hometown dates (in their actual hometowns!). Reality Steve reported that the fantasy suite overnight dates and finale were filmed in Iceland.

So far, Carbone hasn't spoiled those details. But Clayton himself indicated in an interview with People that he ends up happily engaged.

"I did find love," he said. "I was a little skeptical going into the whole journey, but I'm so pleasantly surprised that things worked out much different than I thought. Again, I'm just so excited to watch it back and have everyone else watch it as well."

The first black Bachelor is set to give out roses on The Bachelor 2021. Matt James, 28, is the franchise's first Black male lead in its 25th season. James was initially cast as a suitor on The Bachelorette 2020 Clare Crawley's season but is now the star of his own show.

However, in March, The Bachelorette 2020 filming was put on hold for several months due to the coronavirus pandemic. Then, in June, ABC announced Matt as the new Bachelor in the wake of worldwide protests against systemic racism and days after Rachel Lindsay, the first black Bachelorette, criticized the show's lack of diversity. 

Fans had long been calling on ABC and producers to cast a Black man as The Bachelor and more people of color as contestants. Mike Johnson, a contestant on Hannah Brown's season, was in the running to lead season 24, but Peter Weber was chosen instead.

ABC said, "We know we have a responsibility to make sure the love stories we’re seeing onscreen are representative of the world we live in and we are proudly in service to our audience. This is just the beginning and we will continue to take action with regard to diversity issues on this franchise. The Bachelor 2021: Who is Matt James?

The first black Bachelor, Matt James, is a 28-year-old a real estate broker, entrepreneur and community organization founder. He is a native of North Carolina and attended Wake Forest University, where he majored in economics and played wide receiver for the school's football team. He then went on to play football professionally. 

Now living in New York City, James founded ABC Food Tours, an organization that supports kids from underserved communities. 

James is close friends with Tyler Cameron, the runner-up on Hannah Brown's Bachelorette season 15, and the two work together to run ABC Food Tours. When he was cast as a contestant on Clare Crawley's season, Bachelor Nation fans immediately made the link. However, filming was delayed due to the pandemic. 

James was part of some drama before ever appearing on the show. Crawley seemed to include him when calling out suitors who were only seeking fame. 

"If you are doing interviews and creating Cameo accounts before you are even on my season... you are in it for the wrong reasons... #dontwasteyourtime," she tweeted. 

James clarified that he was on the Cameo app to help raise money for coronavirus relief and had pledged all earnings to the Robin Hood Foundation, according to E! Online.

Meanwhile, James began gaining a big Bachelor Nation fanbase thanks to TikTok videos and other social media appearances with Cameron and Brown while they were all quarantining together in Florida.

While the selection of James as The Bachelor may seem like a response to the recent upswell in anti-racism calls to action, and Rachel Lindsay's pointed critique, ABC and told Variety that they had their eye on James for months.

“He would have been on Clare’s season if it started in March. When we realized the shutdown was going to extend through the summer, we started thinking about how we were going to choose our Bachelor,” said ABC unscripted executive Robert Mills. 

“Matt was somebody who was on our radar and we were thinking about him. We were thinking do we announce him early, or do we put him on Clare’s season and then announce him later, if it doesn’t work out with Clare? We didn’t make a final decision until recently, but this has been talked about for quite some time.”

James is the first lead in 29 seasons of both The Bachelor and Bachelorette who wasn't part of a previous season.

Love is in the air (and on the beach) on Bachelor in Paradise 2021. A new cast of sexy singles from The Bachelor and The Bachelorette head to a resort in Mexico, hoping to hook up, fall in love and possibly leave engaged.

Last year's Bachelor in Paradise was canceled due to the pandemic, which means there are four new seasons of the franchise that can contribute cast members — Peter's Bachelor season, Clare/Tayshia's Bachelorette season, Matt's Bachelor season and Katie's (current) Bachelorette 2021 season. Of course, Bachelor in Paradise usually includes way-back past contestants. And according to spoiler king Reality Steve, this season will include a lead!

Bachelor in Paradise 7 won't be hosted by Chris Harrison, who departed the franchise following a racial reckoning on The Bachelor earlier this year. Instead, this season will feature a rotating round of celebrity hosts, including David Spade, Lance Bass, Lil Jon and Tituss Burgess. But Wells Adams will be back as "master of ceremonies."

Bachelor in Paradise 2021 release date

ABC set the Bachelor in Paradise 7 release date for Monday, August 16.

That's one week after Katie's Bachelorette season ends.

Bachelor in Paradise 7 filmed over a period of three weeks in the town of Sayulita, located in Vallarta-Nayarit, Mexico.

ABC announced the first 23 Bachelor in Paradise 7 cast members. Over a dozen more unidentified contestants will join them through the course of the season (more their names, see the spoilers below).

A major spoiler is that Becca Kufrin, the lead of Bachelorette season 14, is joining the cast. She's the first former lead to be on BIP. 

Other notable contestants who arrive at the beach are: Tia Booth (Arie, BIP 5), Demi Burnett (Colton, BIP 6), Thomas Jacobs (Katie) and Joe Park (Clare/Tayshia).

Although it feels like years have passed since The Bachelor finale with Peter Weber, it's only been a few months.
