While consoles used to get cheaper a year or two into their life cycle, this generation’s gone the other way. RAM and component shortages have pushed manufacturers to raise prices instead of drop them, which makes any genuine saving on new hardware feel a lot sweeter than it used to.

This Nintendo Switch 2 deal for Prime Day is a good example — the console’s down to AU$624, beating the EOFY price of AU$629 and sitting well below its usual AU$699.95. It’s a modest discount on paper, but the timing matters: Nintendo plans to lift the Switch 2 to AU$769.95 on September 1.

As a kitchen and home appliance reviewer, there's no denying the infatuation I have with Ninja Kitchen. I have loved every product I've tried from the brand, from fun, novelty gadgets to actually practical, borderline normal gizmos. Late last year, Ninja's glass air fryer, the Ninja Crispi, launched in Australia, and I immediately got my hands on it.

In our Ninja Crispi review, we gave it a massive 4.5 stars, as it was super quiet and delivered surprisingly crispy results. Our reviewer was pleasantly surprised by the device, and found the gadget "reinvented the traditional air fryers" they've used in the past. As for the Crispi Pro, we gave it 4-stars, as we found it was a bit pricey to justify at full cost. However, this tidy 32% discount nips that in the bud.

While I haven't used the Crispi Pro as much as I'd like, I've really appreciated the simplicity and convenience that come with the Crispi. It's become an integral part of my daily routine — from frying up chicken tenders to roasting salmon perfectly, I've enjoyed every meal and side I've made with my Ninja Crispi. Up front, the RayNeo Air 4 Pro glasses aren't the cheapest on this list, but at sub-$300 at full price, they're still pretty nice to your wallet. And Prime Day knocks $60 off the usual $299 price.

If all you want is great picture quality, the Air 4 Pros have got you covered. These glasses offer a 1080p HDR10 201-inch virtual display with 3D capabilities. As far as I know, these are the first AR glasses to breach the 200-inch size and the first to offer HDR10 quality.

The subtle design is comfortable to wear for a long session and doesn't get too hot, unlike some cheaper AR specs. At $299, these were a steal, but at $239, you need to take a look.

Xreal One Pro — the top dog

I'm taking a leap up the price tag chain, but Xreal is the top dog in the AR glasses world for a reason.

The Xreal One Pros are feature-packed and built for enthusiasts who want more than just a display. To start, they're $100 off for Prime Day, but these glasses come with a super wide 57-degree field of view, one of the largest available on the market. It does produce some edge fringing, but it's not terribly distracting.

That view can be anchored in place for focus, or it will smoothly track where you're looking around, so you can always have the screen in front of you. The powerful X1 chip is situated in the glasses, meaning you don't need a computer puck or an app. Plus, the smaller glass prisms mean these glasses are comfortable and give you a private workspace whenever your travels take you.

Viture Luma Pro — game away

What sets the Viture Luma Pros apart from the other glasses on this list is the picture quality customization options. They feature physical myopia adjustment dials so you can adjust the picture for your needs quickly and easily.

Viture combines a 1200p display with Viture's amazing color science, a 52-degree field of view, 1,000 nit brightness, and a 120Hz refresh rate. All perfect for gaming on the go.

Additionally, of the glasses I'm highlighting, these look the most like a normal pair of sunglasses, which means you can wear them anywhere without standing out in a crowd.

RayNeo Air 3s —the wallet friendly option

Look, if you just want to save money but still want a personal giant screen, then you need to take a look at the RayNeo Air 3s. It's the predecessor to the Air 4 Pro.

If you just want something that will plug into your Steam Deck, laptop, or phone on the go, then at $189 for Prime Day, these glasses are the perfect pair.

Compared to other options on this list, they do stand out more, especially with the nearly mirror finish on the cover lenses. Still, they come with 1080p picture quality, a 120Hz refresh rate, good color, and low blue light.

For AR glasses beginners who don't care about a ton of features or spatial computing and just want a massive private display for not a lot of dough, I'd go with the Air 3s. And when you're ready to upgrade, the Air 4 Pros are right there.

I’ve spent the past couple of weeks putting Sony’s new Bravia 7 II True RGB TV through its paces (with a deeper dive coming next week), and so far I've been seriously impressed by its contrast, colour accuracy and brightness.

Despite being one step below Sony's flagship Bravia 9 II, the Bravia 7 II holds its own with the best of them. I went in expecting exceptionally vivid colours due to its use of individually controlled red, green and blue backlights, but what really blew me away was how it was able to achieve OLED-like black levels without any noticeable light bleed — all while keeping the kind of brightness you’d normally only see from the best Mini LED TVs.

As pointed out in our Bravia 7 II review, the TV is a beast when it comes to HDR performance, and my favourite thing about it has to be that it comes factory-calibrated to industry-standard levels, meaning it provides a look based on Sony's own master monitors (used by Hollywood colourists) right out of the box.

Best of all? The brand-new Bravia 7 II has already been discounted by upwards of AU$1,500 (depending on the retailer) as part of this year's EOFY sales. The biggest discount can be found on 85-inch model, which will usually set you back AU$7,499 but is currently down to AU$5,999 on Sony's online store with free shipping included. Alternatively, you could pick it up from The Good Guys for just AU$5,985, though that doesn't include shipping costs.

While the best deal can be had on the 85-incher, the next biggest discount can be found on the 75-inch model, which has dropped by AU$1,000 to just AU$5,499 AU$4,499.

Meanwhile, the 65‑inch model is now AU$700 off, dropping from AU$3,999 to AU$3,299, while the 55‑inch falls from AU$2,999 to AU$2,499, and the 50‑inch from AU$2,699 to AU$2,299.

Regardless of your preferred size option, those are are excellent deals. That said, you'd better hurry if you want to take advantage of this EOFY offer, as it'll expire after 11:59pm AEST on June 30, 2026.

While you're shopping for Prime Day deals, you might've noticed that the Ninja Slushi isn't discounted as part of Amazon's annual summer sale. That said, I was checking out SharkNinja's website and was hyped to see the machine that earned me over 1 million views online listed for $100 off right now.

The Ninja Slushi is one of my favorite kitchen gadgets for entertaining, turning everything from cocktails and coffee drinks to frozen sodas into smooth slushies without needing ice. Right now, Ninja has discounted the entry-level model by $100, bringing it down to just $199.

The Ninja Slushi has become the centerpiece of almost every gathering I host. The cranberry vodka mule slushie I made for Friendsgiving that ended up being such a hit, people were asking for refills before they finished their first drink.

More recently, I hosted a cafe-themed birthday party and served vanilla iced coffee slushies that disappeared almost as quickly as I could pour them.

I've made everything from eggnog slushies during the holidays to cherry Coke creations inspired by classic convenience store Slurpees. At this point, it's less of a kitchen appliance and more of an excuse to invite people over.

What makes the Slushi so easy to use is that Ninja does most of the work for you. The machine features dedicated presets depending on what you're making, whether that's a frozen cocktail, coffee drink, milkshake or soda-based slushie. You can also customize the texture, dialing in exactly how icy or smooth you want the final result.

The freezing process depends on factors like sugar content and how much liquid you're adding, but I've personally seen Ninja's RapidChill technology transform drinks into slushies in as little as 20 minutes.

Once it's ready, the machine can keep your drink at the ideal consistency for hours. That's especially useful when hosting, since guests inevitably want another round. (One of my favorite tricks is batching extra drinks in pitchers ahead of time and storing them in the fridge.)

If I have one complaint, it's that cleaning takes a little effort. Thankfully, the machine comes apart intuitively, and after a few uses the process becomes second nature. For me, it's a small tradeoff for a gadget that consistently steals the spotlight whenever friends come over.

If you've been curious about the Ninja Slushi but couldn't justify the original $299 price tag, this $199 deal is the lowest entry point I've seen for a machine that's genuinely changed how I host. And judging by how often guests ask for "whatever slushie you're making tonight," I'd say it's money well spent.

If you're planning to take a vacation this summer, you want to make sure your house is protected against any eventuality, but some of the best smart home devices can get a little pricey, especially if you buy them all together.

Fortunately, Prime Day is a good opportunity to stock up on these devices, as many are on sale, often for a good discount. I've tested dozens of smart home gadgets, and have edited reviews of dozens more, so I've scoured Amazon, Best Buy, and other retailers for the best deals on products that actually work. So, before you pack your bags, make sure that you have these smart home devices looking after things while you're gone.

Security cameras

You'll find plenty of deals on Amazon for all sorts of security cameras and video doorbells, but I'd recommend a camera that doesn't require a subscription, so you don't have to pay a monthly or annual fee just to see the video it recorded.

Smart locks

If you're leaving pets at home or need someone to water your plants, then one of the best smart locks will let you monitor and manage who gets into your house. Smart locks can be programmed with specific codes for specific people, so you'll know when someone types in a code into the keypad.

Water leak detectors

There's nothing worse than coming home to a flooded basement. There's the massive cleanup expense, you'll have to throw out thousands of dollars of waterlogged items you stored in the basement, and there's a potentially huge water bill, too.

At the very least, the best water leak detectors can alert you when something's amiss; these sensors are relatively cheap, so you can place them all around the home, under every sink or anywhere else. Other, more expensive models can automatically shut off your water, saving you even more hassle. Better yet: they may even decrease your insurance bill.

Electricity monitor

Power surges and outages are also something you'll want to keep tabs on. If there's a blackout, you'll want to know if all the food in your fridge will need to be tossed. Or, if there's a power surge, you'll also want to get an alert.

The Ting is a small plug-in device that monitors all the circuits in your home, and measures the voltage and current running through your house. If anything is out of the norm, it will send you a message to your phone. It can also let you know if anything you've plugged into an outlet has faulty wiring.

Smart light, plug or switch

How to you make it look like someone's home when you're not? With a smart light, smart light switch, or a smart plug. They all work pretty much the same these days, but look for ones with specific "vacation modes." This setting will have your lights turn on and off randomly during specific times, to give the appearance that your house is occupied.

If you have floor lamps, a smart plug or smart light will do the trick; if you have a lot of ceiling lights, a smart light switch might be the better choice.

Smart thermostat

Did you know the best temperature to set your AC during the summer is 78º F? Yeah, that may seem a bit high, but whatever your preference, one of the best smart thermostats can manage your home's climate more efficiently, so you're using less energy while still keeping your house cool.

The best smart thermostats can take into account not just the temperature inside your house, but also look at weather reports and other data to recommend proactively cooling your home, so you're using less energy during peak hours.

And, as they're linked to your phone, you can program them so that you're not cooling your house excessively while you're away, but you can still return home to a comfortable environment.

Even better: Many utility companies offer some excellent rebates on smart thermostats, so you can often find them for very little money.

With the Prime Day deals now into their third day, it could be a good time to pick up one of the best cameras at a very respectable price.

As is often the case with these kinda of sales events, the reductions on pricier mirrorless bodies are, for the most part, pretty poor. Canon is the only major player offering significant discounts, like $150 off the fantastic Canon EOS R50V at B&H. Lumix and Sony are offering only modest discounts, and typically on older models like the A7 III (currently $1,398 at B&H), while Nikon and Fuji are true to form and nowhere to be seen.

Interestingly, though, there are some awesome deals on action and vlogging cameras. My favorite deal is on the GoPro MAX2, one of my top 360 cameras, which is currently $200 off at Amazon.

I've waded through the river of crappy camera deals to find only the ones I'd recommend this Prime Day. Here they are.

Don't be fooled by the dodgy deals

There are a lot of deals out there, but not all of them are good. Take this, the Sony a6700, which is currently reduced from $1,599 to $1,399 at Amazon. Sounds great, right?

Well, let me clue you in on a little price tracking info: the a6700 sat at $1,399 from August 2024 to July 2025, then it got hiked up to $1,500. Back in March, it got hiked up in price again to $1,599. So sure, there are discounts on it right now, but it's only going back down to where it started.

Or how about the Lumix S5IIX, which is ostensibly reduced from $1,919 to $1,797 at Amazon. Well, that got hiked to $1,900 in April so it could look good now. I've seen that camera drop under the $1,500 mark in the past, which is where I'd expect to see it given it's nearly 3 years old.

There's a lot of that floating about right now. "Dynamic pricing" so to speak. I won't be including that kind of deal here. No sir-ee.

Beyond that, I chose these models because they're slightly smaller so they can fit in a bedroom or dorm room (the places most likely to have someone gaming for hours on end).

Four of the five models are OLED TVs. That's my preferred panel type for GTA 6. While Mini-LED might be brighter, OLEDs are going to make nighttime in Vice City look incredible. You'll get inky blacks punctuated by neon signs, streetlights and, I'm just going to assume here, plenty of explosions.

You can, of course, go for the lone Mini-LED TV if you want something bigger, but I can't speak highly enough of OLED's incredible capabilities.

Outside of seeing whether my mates laugh at me wearing them in the pub, I’ve put each of these AI glasses through ruthless tests to ensure that not only do their AI features work, but that they’re actually useful in the long term (and not just AI slop for the sake of it).

Rokid AI Glasses Style — the pick for most of you

You may have seen that Meta’s launched some new $299 smart glasses. That’s all good and all, but why even bother when a better pair that’s compatible with better AI assistants is $50 less?

Rokid Glasses — the pick for enthusiasts

Just before I show you another company, there’s Rokid’s display smart glasses too. Basically, think of that similar AI-infused tech of the Styles, but with an added display UI that makes some of these features so much more helpful!

Instead of asking questions and getting an audio answer, you get heads-up information for you to read (much better than being told it), and no longer do you take a picture and pray you framed it correctly — there’s a framing display to get the angle just right.

And to get real-time translation you can read with a less-than 1 second latency rather than trying to listen to your glasses and the person at the same time is significant. These are great for traveling and look subtle on your face.

Nuance Audio — the pick for hearing problems

I gave a pair of Nuance Audio smart glasses to my Dad over Christmas, and the difference they made to his hearing problems has been significant. From the simplistic UI that helps him control the volume of the background noise to tracking/emphasizing voices talking to him is a huge win.

And even better? These are a fully FDA approved over-the-counter hearing aid. That means the top man doesn’t have to look like he’s tuning into Tokyo with his rather precarious-looking hearing aids — it just all fits into a nicely styled pair of glasses that he doesn’t feel insecure at all wearing out and about.

It starts with a super wide 57-degree field of view, which does produce some edge fringing in those new prism optics, but not to the point they distract you.

Throw in impressive tracking that allows the display to either smoothly follow you or anchor in place to look away from, the X1 chip that powers all of this locally on hardware (no app required) and smaller glass prisms instead of the giant bird baths, and you’ve got a comfortable set of glasses that pass the plane test and give you your workspace wherever you are.

RayNeo Air 3s — the dirt cheap pick

“All of those features are great and all, but I don’t care,” I hear a lot of you say. “I just want something to plug into my Steam Deck and play on the plane with no silly tracking stuff.”

I wasn't planning on partaking in Prime Day this week, but then I noticed that the earpads on my primary headphones are peeling and the cord connection is starting to fail. I need some new cans.

At one point, I had a pair of the excellent JBL Tour One M3 over-ear headphones, but my wife's Sony WH-1000XM4 headphones started failing, and I let her borrow the M3s. I never got them back.

Fortunately, right now, Amazon has slashed the price to $249, the lowest I've ever seen, knocking $200 off. These high-end headphones are soft, feel luxurious, and remain supremely comfortable over a long listening session.

Plus, they're JBL, so you know the sound is quality, and at this price, it's a deal you don't want to miss.

Neither I, during the cup of coffee I had with the M3, nor my partner truly utilized the included USB-C smart transmitter. However, my colleague Erin Bashford found it to be the best part of the Tour One M3.

"JBL's newest premium headphones, the Tour One M3, have broken my brain. Not because they're terrible — quite the opposite," Bashford said. "Because they come with the one thing I wish all the best Bluetooth headphones would include: a USB-C transmitter (alongside Bluetooth, of course)."

I won't pretend that at $249 for Prime Day,a pair of Tour One M3 headphones isn't an investment, but it's one I don't think you'll regret, especially considering their normal price. These headphones don't have the social cachet of an AirPods Max 2 or Beats headset, but maybe they should.

The Prime Day deals are here, and it got me thinking about whether there were any deals on pizza ovens (spoiler alert: there are).

We're down to the final full week of EOFY sales, and boy, has it been a wild ride this June. With discounts across the latest tech, NBN plans, home appliances, activewear, beauty, and so much more, there's a plethora of good deals out in the ether right now.

As a kitchen appliance reviewer and hobbyist chef (in the making at least), I've found some stellar deals across kitchen must-haves this EOFY on Amazon. From coffee machines and air fryers to fun novelty accessories and heavy-duty cookware, I've gathered 12 of my top-rated kitchen deals for your perusal below.

The AirPods Max 2 just launched in March of this year, and this is the first major discount we've seen for Apple's high-end over-ear headphones. In our AirPods Max 2 review, we praised the refreshed headphones for their rich, complex sound, calling it an upgrade done right.

The mercury is rising over here in the UK, with temperatures predicted to spill over 100F this week, so I decided to get ahead by buying the accessory I've seen people all over town wearing: a wearable fan. It's already helping me keep my cool — and can do the same for you this summer.

I've worn my JISULIFE Portable Neck Fan while working from home (where I don't have A/C), at the park, on a sunny day out in the city after over 5 miles of walking while pushing my toddler in the stroller, and even while riding a steam train.

At the end of my walk up a steep street home (for context, I live near one of Europe's steepest residential streets, which has a 25% incline), my neighbor complimented me on my "cool headphones" before being even more impressed that it was actually a slick, bladeless neck fan.

What I like most about this fan is the fact that it cools me around my neck. This sounds like an obvious point, but it's the key to its success in my book. For years, when I've got home feeling hot and sweating, I've found the most relief by splashing cool water on my pulse points — particularly my wrists, back of my neck, face and chest. This fan hits them all.

You feel most of the breeze on your face, especially if you have longer hair worn down, and my only complaint is that there's not a larger vent at the back for an extra-big blast at that pulse point — but I've got a hack for that.

When walking up a particularly steep street in the sun yesterday, I had my fan on full blast but really craved a back-of-the-neck chill, so I simply adjusted the fan by 90 degrees to angle the larger fans to the back of my neck and under my chin. It worked like a charm, and stayed on while I used both hands to haul the stroller and sleeping toddler over uneven sidewalks. Its hands-free operation and nicely balanced weight really came into their own.

In addition to offering great cooling tech, it's easy to operate. You simply press the power button once to switch it on to its lowest setting, then again to increase the power. It has five speeds that you can cycle through before switching it off. Its rechargeable battery lasts all day on the low-medium setting, and it comes with a USB-C charger (though I've been using one of my existing chargers for ease). For the low price point, you can't go wrong.

I've also bought one for my mom, who loves it. And I've (reluctantly) lent it to my five-year-old and two-year-old to cool down after school, and found them infinitely more pleasant to parent!

As a deals writer who also loves her daily skincare routine, I always find the best beauty deals pop up in June, with prices slashed on skincare, makeup and fragrances.

If you've been looking for the right moment to buy the Nintendo Switch 2, now's the time to strike — the in-demand handheld/console hybrid is currently discounted by 10% on Amazon, bringing its price down from AU$699.95 to AU$629.

I get it — 10% doesn’t sound like a huge discount, even if it is Amazon's lowest price on the Switch 2 yet. But with Nintendo planning to bump the Switch 2 up to AU$769.95 from September 1, that “small” saving suddenly means you’re paying AU$140.95 less if you buy now. In other words, it’s a pretty great moment to jump in.

While we can't know for sure if the Switch 2 will get an even bigger discount between now and September — maybe during next month’s Prime Day sale — there's no question that this current deal is a great opportunity.

In our Nintendo Switch 2 review, we described the hybrid console as "ultimate version of the Switch concept", noting that it offers "impactful upgrades across the board," such as a larger 7.9-inch 1080p display and redesigned, magnetic Joy-Cons.

Admittedly, battery life could be better, and a more ergonomic design would've made it more comfortable to play during longer gaming sessions. Still, the Switch 2 holds its own against the likes of Valve's Steam Deck, even managing to outperform it in some areas, boasting a higher resolution display and support for DLSS upscaling.

The FIFA World Cup 2026 is here – and with free streams available in many countries around the world, it's one of the most accessible mega-events on the sporting calendar. However, if you're away from home – or even in the US, Canada, or Mexico to support your country in person – you'll notice that your regular streaming services are blocked.

The most effective way of accessing your home country's free streams is to use one of the best VPNs to change your location virtually. For example, if you're a Brit in the US, you'll need to set your VPN to connect to a UK server in order to watch all the coverage on the BBC and ITV.

Often, it's as simple as just clicking and connecting. But, in my experience, there can often be some stumbling blocks that can hold up your progress. That's why I'm going to run down some key VPN preparation steps to make sure all you need to do is connect, and kick off with confidence.

Set up your streaming accounts before kick-off

It might seem obvious, but it's well worth putting in a few minutes of prep several hours – or even days – before kick-off. Don't worry, it's not complicated.

Whether you plan on streaming with BBC iPlayer, Peacock, or any other regional service, connect your VPN before you do anything. This ensures the app or webpage doesn't see a frequently changing location, which can tip it off to the fact you're using a VPN.

Once you're connected, make sure you know your streaming service login, and you have the requisite streaming app installed if you're using a mobile device or a streaming device like a Fire Stick or Apple TV.

Once you've connected to the VPN and you've got the app installed – or the webpage open – log in, or create an account.

Finally, try watching something. If everything works seamlessly, this could be the last step you need before kick-off, but if you notice any small issues – or if you're blocked entirely – keep reading.

VPN troubleshooting

So, you've run into an issue. That's fine – it's why you've done this before kick-off.

The first step you should take is to look at your VPN's protocol. A VPN protocol is what the app uses to encrypt your data, and move it from one place to another. Some are better for streaming than others.

If your VPN is set to "Automatic," I'd recommend manually selecting the "WireGuard" option. WireGuard is generally very fast, and it's also very effective at getting around streaming site geo-blocking. Avoid specialist "obfuscating" protocols like Norton VPN's Mimic or Proton VPN's Stealth protocol. These are best reserved for when you need maximum privacy, not maximum streaming performance.

Many VPNs now support something called "post-quantum encryption." In everyday use, this is a great tool for making sure your data is not only safe now, but also in the future. However, it can slow down your connection, and may also give the streaming site more reason to believe you're using a VPN, and therefore block access. So, I'd recommend you turn off post-quantum encryption.

Make sure to turn off any browser protection tools like Surfshark's CleanWeb, NordVPN's Threat Protection Pro, or Proton VPN's NetShield. Again, these are great for daily usage, but blocking trackers and ads can lead streaming sites to block your access.

Finally, if you're mid-match and you find that your VPN is suddenly blocked, it's not the end of the world. Some VPNs like Norton VPN allow you to manually refresh your IP address. This means that even if the IP you're currently using ends up blocked, you can get a fresh one in seconds. If you VPN doesn't allow this, you should close your streaming tab, disconnect and reconnect the VPN, and start your stream again.

World Cup 2026 is mere days away, and if you're scrambling to find a way to stream all 104 matches, you're not alone. There are quite a few ways to watch every game of this year's tournament, from a few of the best streaming services and most of the best live TV streaming services.

But if you want the cheapest way to stream every World Cup match in 2026, there's a clear answer: Peacock. NBCUniversal's streaming service is showing every game, all for just $10.99 a month. However, there is a notable catch ...

You'll need to learn Spanish.

Or, more accurately, you'll at least have to tolerate a Spanish-language broadcast. That's because Peacock has the U.S. rights only to the Spanish-language broadcasts. Also, 92 of the games will be shown on Telemundo, while the other 12 matches will be shown on Universo. But all of them will stream on Peacock.

Now, all that said, if you only care about watching all the goals and listening is secondary, Peacock Premium is by far the cheapest option. Some matches will be available for free on networks over the air using the best antennas, but others are exclusive to cable and other over-the-top TV providers (DirecTV, YouTube TV, etc.).

The cheapest option among these is Fox One, which starts at $19.99 with a free three-day trial. For those who want a true cable alternative, YouTube TV offers a 21-day free trial, but that won't get you through the 38-day tournament. You'll be stuck paying $67.99 for the remaining 17 days of the tournament. Not cheap.

Now, if you really want to save some money, you can sign up for Walmart+. Right now, you can try Walmart+ for 30 days for just $1. You can get Peacock for free as a perk with the subscription. Once your 30-day trial is up, cancel it, then sign up for Peacock Premium for $10.99 to get through the final eight days of the tournament. Or, pay just $4 more and get Apple TV bundled with your subscription, giving you access to tons of great original movies and shows to watch when there's no World Cup action going on.
