Las Vegas (NV) - We’ve seen a lot of case mods in our day, but nothing as beautiful as Jeffrey Stephenson’s creation at CES. He’s managed to pack a VIA processor, motherboard and a touch-sensitive screen inside of a custom mahogany wood case. The case was inspired by antique clock designs and the amazing thing is he built it with just a hand power drill.

There’s a heating vent on top along with an exposed heat sink on the back. Stephenson demonstrated that the heatsink was fairly cool by placing his finger on it for several seconds. The back also has the wi-fi antenna, power connector and a push-button power switch. Two USB ports are on the bottom of the case.

Specs-wise the computer uses a VIA PX10000 Pico-ITX motherboard and a 1GHz VIA C7 cpu. The screen is an eight-inch EarthLCD touchscreen. There’s 1 GB of Crucial DDR2 memory inside.

Stephenson is a retired engineer who has a lot of time on his hands, "That’s the only way I have time to build these things," he told us. He builds custom computers as a hobby and added that he’d be willing to build one of these computers for $10,000.
