That Vista rock video sucks as much as the OS does. If they want to attract customers I think they need to make a "PC" and "MAC" commercial in which "PC" takes a base ball bat to that fruit cake "MAC" guy...then end the commercial saying "Vista Ultimate". Then and only then I will get me to buy the OS?

I love how people bag on vista all the time. MS is cutting support for XP soon, Vista is based on better technologies. Get about 500 bucks and build a rig to handle it or STFU, I am tired of people saying Vista sucks when a known fact is give it the hardware it needs it will run better then xp ever did. XP was the same when it came out people had issues trying to run it, sad people forget these facts.... O.o

Yeah, thats great Vernon. Some of us are in college. The biggest problem with vista aside from compatability problems and missing hardware drivers is that a lot of people including myself either can't afford $500 for a new PC or simply don't want to be be forced to throw out another PC just for M$. So, if you want to send me a $500 check then I'll consider it. Otherwise, I have just kicked M$ to the curb and am enjoying the Ubuntu experience. Where do you think money grows, on trees?

Get a job while in college!! Working in the labs is how I pay for my tech gear. Also I have been running vista on my desktop from day 1 and its been sold. There is a small problem with the Nvidia 7900gt but that can be solved easily.

I use Ubuntu on my budget notebook (which also has vista). The boot times for the two OS's are equal and the only difference is with the applications. I use Ubuntu because it makes writing & compiling code easier along with easy access to LaTeX, and Emacs.

Ummmm college is paying for my next computer which is a 1700 dollar beast get a loan. College is not an excuse, 500 bucks is cheap these days.
