3. EFax

The eFax main dashboard is a bit different than the other two services tested in that it starts in the account overview page. It also offers an eFax Quick Send feature right off the dashboard, which could come in handy in a hurry. Unfortunately, eFax does not include a contact manager, making it a painful exercise to manually enter phone numbers each time you fax.

As opposed to TrustFax, which had the online ability to manipulate the .pdf versions of the fax, eFax offers a separate downloadable application called eFax Messenger that offers similar functionality. Personally I don't think it makes any sense at all to have an online fax service that includes a key piece of functionality in a separate downloadable application. The whole point of online fax is anywhere accessibility, and there are just sometimes when you won't be able to download and use a separate application.

While it is easy to see your inbound faxes online with the eFax messenger center, trying to look at outbound faxes is not as easy. You can access activity logs for both inbound and outbound faxes, but that display does not directly link up with .pdf files or any viewable file that show what was actually sent or received.

oh, i forgot to add that i'm paying just $4.50 a month in 101fax. that's definitely more than half the rates of the providers mentioned here!
