1. Introduction

In the ancient days of film, we all generally kept our crappy photos to ourselves, and only hauled out the photo album or printed doubles in order to share. Digital photography, though, has made it dead easy to enhance and share quality photos. The only problem is that there is too much choice and too many options about enhancing and sharing. There are a lot of different tools online and offline to manipulate, share and print digital photographs, many of them very similar on the surface and in their claims.

In general, you want to be able to do some basic degree of enhancement with some kind of one button auto-enhance to improve picture quality. Sure, you could use Adobe Photoshop if you wanted to, but in many cases it's overkill for basic family/fun photos. You want to be able to easily allow people to see your photos, and you want to be able to print your photos either locally or from a photo printing service.

In this review, we take a look at five of the most popular photo sharing sites/applications: Google's Picasa, Yahoo's Flickr, Kodak's EasyShare, HP's Snapfish and Shutterfly. We'll compare their various offerings to see how they stack up.
