Comdex Las Vegas 2003: Lowered expectations, tightened focus

The annual rite known as the Fall Comdex show got underway last night with Mr. Gates' usual opening address. But instead of taking over the MGM Grand's 17,000 seat arena, the keynote was held in the Aladdin Casion and Resort's significantly smaller 7,000 seat theatre. Tickets were easy to come by, too, unlike previous years where getting one was a prized as having a winning lottery ticket. Read more

Comdex Las Vegas 2003: Waiting for CES

The first "real" day of Comdex had more activity than I expected. The activity level feels higher than last year's - at least it did today (Monday). But some of this could be due to the show management's decision to have everyone trudge the length of the Convention Center in order to reach the Registration area. Whether things hold up Tuesday will be the real test. Read more
