The Best Android Games of the Summer

While there are some who consider mobile gaming a watered-down, casual affair, the continuing release of excellent mobile games along a wide variety of genres is challenging that line of thinking. As the mobile gaming market continues to grow, big publishers and quirky indie devs continue to rise to the challenge with a variety of big budget titles, ports of full PC and console titles, and clever little gems that utilize the touch screen and other aspects of a smartphone. But the Google Play marketplace is a crowded one and quality games can sometimes be little nuggets of gold in a raging torrent of shovelware. At a loss for what to try out? We'd like to help you out with our own recommendations of some of our favorite Android games divided by genre (along with a few honorable mentions). Have a blast with these 15 Android games!

It's a wide world of gaming out there, and we're sure to have missed out on a lot of good games . Have a few suggestions for games, or other genres you'd like us to review? Make yourselves heard in the comments section below!

This is a good list - also consider the original Shadowgun... and how about Beach Buggy Blitz...both are great games.

You may also want to do a list of the best new Android tablets out this Fall Season -- like the new Novo 7 EOS 7" tablet with a SIM Card slot with 3G HSPA+ for $189 that comes out next week and works with any GSM Wireless Carrier such as T-Mobile --

And the new Pipo M7 Pro - 8.9" tablet for $255 that is similar to the new Nexus 7 but with a larger 8.9 inch screen -- I saw both of these new models at TabletSprint -- worth checking out.

Nice list, going to have to try some of these. Except for the ones that use in app purchases. Those amount to hidden costs that arise after one is addicted to the adrenalin generated by the game play. They should be regulated. Seriously. Some games it's possible to spend thousands of dollars. People with addictive personalities are at risk.

NOVA 3 and Dungeon Hunters 4 by Gameloft both are fun. Although Dungeon Hunters 4 relies on microtransactions.
