On the first day of Christmas, Google gave to me: YouTube in HD! Google’s YouTube recently moved to the 16:9 aspect ratio, added some full-length programming, and now serves a (very) small subsection of its massive library in high definition. Most impressively, the playback is smooth on a home DSL connection and requires very little buffering time. The picture is noticeably sharper than the very serviceable 480p stream on Hulu, perhaps making YouTube a more attractive place to park premium content. Currently, the HD content on YouTube is mostly made up of video game and movie trailers, but with HD camcorders becoming more commonplace, we’ll surely be seeing more and more family reunions, puppies chasing their tails, and aspiring comedians in high-def.
Umm.... Android? ---> 14 possibly?
Good one, kulpret, but I think the G1 launched in October...not really holiday season yet
