Great Gifts for Gadget Gurus

Great Gifts for Gadget Gurus
By , Ed Tittel
For the Gear Guy or Gal

You want to buy a techie gift for your tech-obsessed friends and family, but it seems like they already have everything. That’s because technophiles assume that nobody “gets” them, or would know what to buy for them. So, here’s a cheat sheet wish list for the gadget-savvy gear lover on your list.

Some of these products are simply high-end, well-designed versions of gadgets that everybody needs (but that techies rarely remember to upgrade). Others are for the tech-adventurous who are always eager to learn new tricks. A few more gadgets here are splurges for those who’d never buy them for themselves, but who recognize the best of the best when they see it. The products in this guide range in price from $59 to $2,125, though all of them can be found for less online with a bit of Web searching.

The blond model is a fan.

The brunette is Chris the Managing editor's wife.

Yeah, she's beautiful but she has no respect for hardware. Apparently she even throws it at his head when he deserves it :)

Just the cardboard boxes. Have you seen some of the clipped contacts that motherboard vendors leave hanging off the bottom of their boards? Ouch, those would seriously hurt...

What are all the gifts expensive things? What's wrong with the $25~75 ranges? :(

    Very best,

    Oh,

And why all the comments about the girls? You don't come here to look at them. You come here for tech and stuff. If you want girls, there's way more websites out there. Hell, google can give you more. So what's the deal with a bunch of folk always commenting on it. And TOM's, what the hell guys, you don't have to put a girl next to a stupid machine to get someone to look at it. Not that I'm complaining, mind.

    Cheers,

Using attractive models when displaying product is a time-honored tradition!
Or it could have given the staff something to do for a while besides just review gadgets.

C'mon folks, sniping at the models on this site shows a lack of class.

We have two ladies who are poking fun at a time-honored tradition as has been mentioned. Smile and acknowledge their spirit.

Should you however feel compelled to take aim at the beautiful people, may I recommend those useless individuals who don't get out of bed for less than $50k.

The blond model looks like she's dressed for halloween. It's probably her long hair, and the dark makeup.

As a gadget / tech guy, I'd say I'd be thrilled to receive nearly any of these gifts on this list. There's only a few of them that I wouldn't really go crazy over.

So if anyone is reading this looking for a gift for someone like this, then it's a pretty good list.

Mundane as it may seem, the PowerSquid would be awesome to get as a gift.

I get funny looks from others when I drool over them.
