With a stylish and understated chrome and black exterior, and a 4.3" 480x272 LCD screen, the R700 is almost as nice to look at as it is to use. Asus also includes a passive cradle (with adhesive windshield mount), a car charger, a USB cable, and a stereo headset along with this unit. In the car, the cradle clashes a bit with the R700: it’s clunky, unattractive, and a bit unwieldy, though it does do a good job of securing the GPS while you’re on the move. Inside the device, a 400 MHz Samsung processor uses 64 MB of SDRAM and 1 GB of Flash ROM that includes iG08 with complete maps of Europe and North America. Its integrated SirfStar III GPS works like a charm, even in crowded noisy urban downtown areas. As an added bonus, the R700 also plays music and video, shows digital photos, and works as a Bluetooth car handsfree phone extension—it can even broadcast its voice channel onto your radio via FM. It’s also nice to hand-carry, and offers up to 8 hours of untethered operation. For those who need to know where to go, and are on the go a lot, this is just the right gift. |

Just the cardboard boxes. Have you seen some of the clipped contacts that motherboard vendors leave hanging off the bottom of their boards? Ouch, those would seriously hurt...

As a gadget / tech guy, I'd say I'd be thrilled to receive nearly any of these gifts on this list. There's only a few of them that I wouldn't really go crazy over.
So if anyone is reading this looking for a gift for someone like this, then it's a pretty good list.
