Most Anticipated Games of 2015

Gaming's best days are still ahead. If you need further evidence, look no further than some of the medium's most hotly anticipated releases. Over the next year or so, gamers can look forward to entries in every genre that promise action, adventure, romance, imagination, excitement and awe. While there are dozens of promising games in the pipeline, the Tom's Guide staff has chosen fifteen that stand out above the rest. Whether or not these games live up to their own hype, they've done a great job holding our attention until they come out.

Battleborn (PS4 / Xbox One / PC)

What do sci-fi soldiers, Elven archers and futuristic swordsmen all have in common? You can play as all of them in Battleborn, an upcoming action/role-playing game from Gearbox Software, the company behind Borderlands. This cooperative, multiplayer first-person adventure, slated for release in late 2015, will feature 25 characters at launch, and no two characters are controlled the same way. Clockwork robot snipers work alongside musclebound berserkers, who see no issue cooperating with aristocratic lady fencers and mushroom men who can throw their own heads at enemies. With tight, varied gameplay and a surprisingly interesting sci-fi story, Battleborn should be a joy to play either solo or with up to five players.

  • I'm s-t-i-l-l waiting for HL3. I'd even settle for Portal 3 to hold me over. Only Valve would take a profitable franchise and ignore it.

  • hopefully the PC games won't just be buggy, poorly optimised console ports limited to 30fps, with console graphics quality, which won't scale to 3 monitors.

Buggy - yes. But I have to say, Advanced Warfare ran better on my brothers' PS4, then my Crossfire & i7 Extreme PC. P1ssed me off, and thus I didn't bother to play it.

I'm sure Valve is waiting until they fully finish Source 2 before developing those games.

I'd like to think that is the case, but man... 10 years between games and even longer between game engines? I know Gabe needs time to count all his money, but cmon. I'd like to know how the cliff-hanger ends before I get senile.

  • I'm still hoping that the 3rd (and final) part of Starcraft 2 comes out in 2015, however, it's not yet in Beta so....here's hoping.

I expect that shortly after that is done Blizzard will announce another WoW expansion and an expansion for Diablo 3. Haven't played WoW in years, but would like to see another Diablo xpac or maybe announcement for Diablo 4.

  • I hope this won't be too heavy on my computer. VPN could help me download this one.
