Now, I need to shut the notebook or PC down, and transplant the new drive into the notebook. Since I removed the old drive from my notebook and installed it in the PC, I can simply remove the new drive from the Apricorn enclosure, prepare it and install the drive in my notebook.
If you booted your notebook from a CD, your old drive is still in the notebook and you'll need to remove it following the directions in Step 2. Be sure to remove and retain any mounting hardware used with the old drive.
Step 6
Now, remove the new drive from the Apricorn enclosure reversing the steps in Step 1.
Step 7
Install any mounting parts removed from the old disk, close up the case and power up your notebook! That should be it. No more clacking. No more fears about losing your electronic life. Relax.

The new drive with mounting hardware in place ready to be installed in the notebook.

Put the disk drive bay cover back on and...
