Treasures lost to the "ladies."

I know that Houston was generally spared the brunt or Rita, although
there is some damage. But more to the point, New Orleans. Are there
any regulars past or present from these areas who's collections have
been lost, and with such, perhaps some valuable rare birds to the
collector's community as a whole?

We were tossing that subject around in #rgvc a bit after the first one
hit... looking at the great images from http://maps.google.com and wonder
just how many valuable collections were lost. Not just videogames, but
there must be lots of collectible items lost that can never be replaced.
While talking about that, I remember seeing photos of a pinball convention
or show - and there were actually photographs showing how the whole place it
was being held eventually filled up with flood water. I wish I could
remember the story or where this place was... but they had pics of
everything set up, then with water about ankle deep... then knee deep...
then... well, you get the picture. Tons of one-of-a-kind machines lost, I
bet.

Anyone know what I'm talking about? :-)
