Hi,

can anyone advise how or where can I get the Treo 650 camera lens
removed? Having problems bringing my Treo to work. Tried calling Palm,
they don't provide service to remove the lens. (Unlike O2 mini, they do
it for you at $45.)

Why don't you cover the lens with a dark epoxy?

What sort place won't allow you to have a device with a camera but will
allow you to have a device with built in Flash RAM (not to mention the 1G
SD card) which can be loaded from a computer?

It is alleged that General Schvantzkoph claimed:

A court is one such place. I had to leave my Treo with lobby security.
The phone is no problem, the PDA is no problem. However, the camera is
forbidden due to privacy issues.

Any number of places, actually. I work for a government contractor that
will permit such a device (sans camera) into the main campus -- you're
trusted not to enter into the device's memory anything you shouldn't.
There are other, more secure areas, where you can take the phone, but
it must be powered off. Others, the battery must be removed. Others,
you can't take the device into the building at all. And all this is (as
official policy, anyway) not a trust issue, but an attempt to avoid
legitimate, but dangerous, mistakes.
