Hi There,

I'm looking for a Desktop replacement with special features what is very important to me.

17" Display (Widescreen)
ATI 9600 128 MB
2.6 GHz +

It should be a quality Laptop. I don't want take it with me around, so battery life and weight isn't important.
It should have power for 3D. Can Intel M with under 2GH handle that? Thats why I decided for 2.6 GHz or more...
What do you think?

Thanks
Houmi

You might look @ the <A HREF="http://pctorque.com/pre-notebook.php#4780" target="_new">Sager 4780</A> or @ <A HREF="http://www.powernotebooks.com/specials.php3?model_id=297" target="_new">PN</A>

Don't know anything about this specific model from Sager except what you see above as it is just coming out(or just released). Best if you go to <A HREF="http://www.talknotebooks.com" target="_new">TalkNotebooks.com</A> and read posts on the new model.

And, a quality notebook ... some of that is personal pref/opinions. For me, the Sager 5680 is a nice notebook so I would base my opinions on having the 5680 and it being really good so far plus depending on what feedback is over at those forums .. both positive & negative.

There might be other 17"s around ... I don't know - haven't looked specifically for those specs.
HTH.

The manufacture wanted $850 for the cpu. And xtreamsnotebook it was $650

And i know alot of you going why so much Power. And I was looking at all the laptops and I wanted 2 hard drives. And not have to worrie about space and The problem with Usb hard drives is they need there own power source. And I wanted to try to keep everything in one Laptop. And taking a USB hard drive would not be easy.

Another question you all might be asking why such a big CPU. Well Paying a little more to get the better cpu. And I can use this for about 10 15 Years. Where the centreno. In a few years the cpus would Like a P2 300. They have a use but Not much of a use.

Then some are going How big is this Monster.

11.0" Wide
15.4" Deep
1.65" Thin

And then your all asking how much battery power.

Standard 8 Cell Battery - Approximately 1.5 hours of runtime (I did not get)
Optional 12 Cell Battery - Approximately 3.0 hours of runtime

And on the site says 10.5 lb with the 8 cell. so I m guessing .5 more with the 12 cell.

Problem is, the GeForceFX Go 5600 is really awful. No comparison what-so-ever to the M10 (Mobility Radeon 9600)
