I guess I was just being in not calling him a Pirate. 
. Done any fishing lately? I'm doing a tournament this Saturday. Hopefully I can find a few more of those 3.5lb bass! Bigger if possible! I just have to figure out if the river will have dropped far enough to be good fishing upriver or if I need to stay down closer to the marshes. If the river is down then I'll need to run up to a couple of places I know to try and get some bigger fish, because it will take at least one good kicker to be competitive for the money. If it's not down, then I'll try to get a good quality stringer down here. Know of a good site that has the river stages in South MS?

I went yesterday and caught one fish. It was a good one 5.6 lbs but that was it. I dont know what I was doing wrong. I didnt get many strikes, and the ones that I got were strange. It was like they were rolling over at it but not really hitting it. This pond has so much duck weed on the bottom that you can forget a worm. I have tried the Carolina Rig also but still get a ton of moss. I ended up using the popping frog again but the damn hook is a shiny aluminum color and I have a feeling that it is part of the problem. Maybe not, but I dont really know. The state of MS. website has what you want. Find the MDWFP on the MS homepage and the river stages are on there plus there are some good links to forums that MS folks keep all info updated for all the state. Also try Mississippi State Uni's website. They are the authority for MS when it comes to the outdoors.
