System:
Palm Tungsten E, Desktop 4.1.4
Dell Inspiron 8500 w/ Windows XP Pro, SP2

If you have a T-E, you probably know that you can assign items in your
calendar to various categories, and you can assign the various
categories a specific color.

Starting about two days ago, the color assignment I set up quit working
properly, but only on the Palm Desktop. My T-E is still fine.

The specific problem is that only calendar items assigned to the
category shown in the "Category" window at the top of the Calendar view
will display the text associated with the calendar item. All other
items are just a featureless rectangle of the appropriate color.

If I switch which category is displayed in the "Category" window at the
top of the Calendar view, then the calendar items in this new category
are now correctly displayed, and all other calendar items become
featureless colored rectangles.

In addition, if I right-click one of the featureless colored rectangles,
the only option I have is "New Event". I can't edit, delete, etc the event.

This all began when I tried to add a new category. I've deleted the new
category, to no avail.

I have the current Palm Desktop - version 4.1.4. (At least, that the
current version for T-E available on the palmOne web site.)

I've tried checking the options and preferences. I've tried changing
the likely candidates, to no avail. (Maybe I missed something?)

I tried Googling the problem, but didn't come up with any likely candidates.

I have not knowingly installed any new sofware on either my Palm or my
laptop since well before the problem began.

The only idea I've been able to come up with is to delete the Palm
Desktop software, then re-install it and do a HotSynce to restore proper
performance. (I hope.)

Any better ideas?
