I checked in ATI.com, crucial.com, tomshardware.com, pricewatch.com and tigerdirect.com. None of those site except for ATI.com has the ATI radeon 9800 pro 128mb for sale. ATI.com has it for sale but there out of stock. Does anybody know other sites where I can find the 9800 pro 128mb.

Does anybody know how much this graphic card will cost if it's an OME (original manufatured equipement) or a third party manufactuer?

elzt: The price for the 9800 pro 128mb in the link you gave me is in US dollars right? If so I live in Alberta Canada so do you know a good website where they ship in Canada and the prices are Canadien. I ckeched a few site and crucial.com is the only one I found where I can change to Canada. Do you know other ones?

use www.pricegrabber.com
they have some.
pricewatch is usually a LITTLE cheaper than pricegrabber, but they dont have any right now.

BTW you could go to Best Buy, Comp USA, or Frys electronics websites and theyre selling em.
You must not have looked very hard.

Long live ATI.

Can someone please give me a website where I can find the Canadian price of the 9800 pro 128mb. And it's available to be ordered. The site mentioned here either they don't have the 9800 pro 128mb or it's in the us.

Best Buy lists it on their site but it is not available...

CompUSA is sold out...

Fry's says to call for availability...

Not sure if you can walk into any of the stores and get one though. I seem to recall seeing a 9800pro on the shelf at one of my local Best Buy's but am not positive...

CasualCat2001: The link for the 9800 pro you gave me is in the US and it's US dollars I think. I live in Canada, Alberta. So can someone please help me find a place where I can order the 9800 pro 128mb in Canada and in Canadian dollars?

And Does anybody know how much this graphic card will cost if it's an OME (original manufatured equipement) or a third party manufactuer from Canada?

Does anybody know who Grape m'kay is? If so how can I contact him?

OME, Eh?!? Ome Oh My!

Anywhooo, yeah here are a BUNCH of sites (the regulars will recognise these. BTW I live in Calgary, and I will post a few of those;

First, is THE BEST e-tailer in Canada IMHO, and they will take off the PST since you live in Alb, even though they are located in Burnaby.
http://www.ncix.com

Now the only E-tailer site I have seen with the R9800, HELL they even have the AIW9800, they are located in Toronto;
http://www.greytech.ca

And then a mediocre option from Vancouver: http://www.ntcw.com

Now for the Locals (Calgary):

My Fav. : http://www.memoryexpress.com

The Widest selection of Graphics cards in Canada (that I have seen): http://www.iccomputers.ca They mention the R9800P in their start page but it's not yet in their price list. These guys ALSO have locations (3) in DEAD-monton I mean Edmonton.

Another wide selection (usually trails ic in launches too), I'm not their fan, and their prices are mid-grade, but you might find what you need from them:http://www.ascotpc.com

You could also try : http:// www.techtronics.ca but only if you are in Calgary. Their selection is more variable than the weather here,a dn they seem to be Nvidia Fans, as they have a HELL of ALOT of GF4tis (mainly ASUS); however they have alot of HIS and Sapphire cards powered by ATI. They got the first OEM AIW9700 (whitebox) in Calgary.

AND you could also go to London Drugs. That dang store freaks me out, it a Pharmacy that sells Dual AMD Iwill computers, plus Apple G4s (towers and Imac) and otnnes of notebooks, plus DIY gear like lighted fans, Antec PSUs, etc. , and occasionally good deals (That's where I bought my SMC wi-fi stuff for about $40 less than FutureShop/BestBuy on each item, also where I bought my dad's PYRO chassis). They had a sale about a month ago where the 9500P was about $219 after rebate, and that's an ATI retail box!!!

As for OEM, you likely won't see those cards for another 2-3 weeks. Usually the Retail cards hit the market first, followed by a slow tickle of OEMs, with the biggest clients (Sapphire) appearing first, and then smaller players (HIS) appearing later. Mfrs like Hercules are likely to how up last as they like to play with the design a bit before simply releasing a vanilla card. So since they are not out here yet (are there even OEMs appearing in the US yet?) no I don't know the prices.

And Finally nobody knows the Grape, he's an enigma wrapped inside a riddle, and then dipped in honey and deep FRIED. Also there is no ways of contacting him. Just write here I will respond if I see it (kinda like the BatSignal), although it would be more effective to start a new thread than to tack our post onto the end of an old one which I might have already written off (as unfortunately happens) or simply have no experience/knowledge/interest in.
Anwyhoo, hope any/all of the above helps.

You might get better use and more enjoyment in your case by upgrading your internet connection so you can enjoy the best games online rather than trying to make them look pretty. Seems silly that you are going for top of the line video card and only have dial-up. What card are you using now? What games are you playing or planning on playing that you feel you need the 9800pro? Most of those same games would probably also benefit from a broadband connection. Just a thought.

CasualCat2001: Yeah I know 56k modems suck for online playing. Espesial for Battlefield 1942. This is what I'm playing. But I can't get highspeed here where I live. I live in a small town. I can get a satellite high speed connetion. But alot of people told me that it's not good to play games. Is that true? Right now I have an nvidia geforce 2 mx/mx 400 32 mb and I have 256mb of ram. When I will get the 9800 pro 128mb. I will also get another 256mb of ram.

Zemuron, despite the fact that I work for the phone company (guess which one) , I'm not trying to sell you ADSL (or even Cable) when I say sattelite is terrible for gaming (even Direct's 2 way type in the U.S. which is not availible here). IT's not that I don't like Bell (heck I have an ExpressVu dish that I'm watching right NOW, GO LEAFS GO!) However the PING rates on Satellite are TERRIBLE and you would still be stuck with the phone line for your upload task. Until we get ADSL or pray VDSL into your area or you get cable (less likely) then you're gonna be out of luck until the X1/2.5-3G mobile network is complete enough to get unlimited traffic at a reasonable cost (but your cell phone may be your future internet connection).
BTW, you didn't mention your CPU, maybe a 9500P and a few other items might do more. However for whatever reasons you're looking to get a 9800P (I won't try to dissuade you) if you're in Alberta and can drive to Edmonton or Calary I would suggest going to iccomputers and check them out they say they have them now, despite the fact they don't have a price on their site.

Just edited to add this: He shoots he SCORES! Leafs up 1-0 (since I mentioned it above).

TheGreatGrapeApe: Why do you want to know my cpu? It's a P4 1.60GHz. I can't drive to Edmonton or Calary to go to iccomputers . So do you know if I would be able to order the 9800 pro 128mb there instead?

Also try http://www.mlhsystems.com They're a local company out here in Winnipeg. They have lots of fine, fine stuff there. I get all my hardware there if I can. Mike is a great guy. They always match prices, no matter where you are, awesome tech support, the works. There is also http://www.atic.ca, but they are questionable. I have never dealt with them before.

MLH does have the 9800's in stock.

He probably wanted to know your cpu b/c sometimes the cpu can become your bottleneck rather than the graphics card. A good example is to look at 2 different benchmark tests in which one tester uses everything high end in their setup and the other uses a more moderate test rig. Sorry to here there is no broadband in your area.

Reply to CasualCat2001

The only reason I mention the CPU is because some people are trying to cram a 9700/9800 into a Celeron 466. So just seeing if you would have been better served by different options, just would have suggested something diff. But you're more than fine.

Just contact ic I'm sure they'd Purolator it to ya' (for a price of course).
