A Uk magazine just described the Treo 650 as Palm's 'last' smartphone.
Does this mean they are abandoning the concept?

I'm a Palm developer and i think the inverse: it is one of the first
phones of the future - but not sure.

Do you have the magazine name?

My feelings is the this: they don't have where to go (handset makers):
they need a excuse to make you trash your phone every few years and buy
a new one:

(80's) (90's) (95's) (2000's) (2007)
big phone => small phone => color screen => photo/movie phone => ??????

where to go now? they need in near future a good reason to make you
trash your phone that take photos or make small movies Robert and buy a
new one.... smartphones.

Personal Computer World - July edition. They have a preferred list of
best products in categories.

So, as a palm developer, should I buy a treo 650 (rah! no billware!) or
iPAQ h6340 (bigg screeenn...) ?

I don't know the iPAQ model. But my treo 650 customers really loves the
model.

If you are developing for Palm then what good would a non-Palm PDA be to
you?
