I finally managed to get a Treo 650 on Orange in the UK last week, and
I'm really pleased with it - I've moved all the data and apps from my
T2 across to it, and it seems pretty stable.

The only minor annoyance is that the touch screen isn't quite flat
against the LCD - when you press it, there is a bit of "give" before
the TS touches the LCD, particularly near the centre of the screen. I
don't know if this is why, but occasionally the point touched moves
when you release the stylus, sufficient to select the wrong item in the
menu or similar.

I don't know whether to take the 650 back for an exchange. I can live
with this, but it is a bit irritating. I'm just wondering if an
exchange unit is likely to be any different. How are other Treo user's
touchscreens? Do they all have give in them, or is mine out of spec?
Any advice gratefully received.

Cheers,

Simon

I wouldn't "live it it." What is now a "bit irritating" or a "minor
annoyance" could get really irritating and a real pain in the uh...
posterior in a few months. Besides, it's not right. The Treo 650 isn't
cheap, it should work correctly out of the box. I know it's a pain to
exchange something like this, especially after you've already gotten
everything set up, but believe me, it'll work on you like a toothache --
and, as with a toothache, you want to avoid going to the dentist as long
as possible -- but once you've done it, you'll wonder why you put off so
long.

Good luck.
