My father has an MN-500 that he would like to use, but he
currently uses AOL Broadband cable provided by Time
Warner. This weekend I was unable to get it working. Any
clues on setting this up or should it be a pretty
straightforward install?

I would have toyed with it longer, but he has a slow
computer running Win98 and it takes forever to change IPs
and reboot.

Chris, AOL runs a proprietary TCP/IP stack which is not compatible with a
great many routers and base stations. You should check with AOL to see
which routers specifically are compatible with their system.
