Is there some software compatable with the Palm IIIc for calculating the
value of a resistor? Rather than have to keep chanting Bad Boys Rape Our
Young Girls But Violet Grey is Willing over and over in my head I'd rather
just be able to enter 470 ohm on the Palm and get the colours of the
resistor bands, or enter Green Yellow Red and get the value of the resistor.

Any other handy electronics software would be spiffy too.

Thanks. I was kind of hoping someone else had already waded through the
sites claiming to have such software but have broken links, or claim to have
freeware but are really just trying to sell you stuff usually not related to
your search, or just out and out try to ream you with spyware, but I guess
that was hoping for a bit much.

Thanks for taking the time to help me though. Greatly appreciated.

Also for your original question look at these (though there is some
cross over between the pages):

There is a really nice project called "Electronics" by 'PalmGuy' but
it is $15 US... Might be worth a look : http://palmguy.surfhere.net/

Freeware palm is where I get stuff for my old Treo so it has a good
range.

Hope these help.

Kids these days wouldn't know any more about "it's the bee's
knees" than their elders would know about "it's the bomb". And that
wouldn't be a bug bomb either. :) Come to think of it, there aren't
as many candy stores around nowadays.

I'd go so far as to say it's the cat's pajamas.

Those who think that "the bees' knees" is passe might find it instructive to
listen to track 5 of Alanis Morissette's "So Called Chaos" CD.

There really are people willing to listen to the whining of that
little pill?

I was taught a non-sequential word association method, No need to
count your way through a dirty ditty every time..

Zero light = dark - black
One - brOWN - sounds sort of like ONE.
Two - lips on everyone - sometimes RED.
Three - Tree - ORANGEs grow on them.
Four - peels on a YELLOW banana.
Five - leaves on a GREEN cannibis leaf .
Six - Sick - makes you feel BLUE.
Seven - vertical stem, weighed down by a VIOLET flower.
Eight - great - Gray
Nine, End of the line, WHITE. (Makes no sense at all, but it stuck..)

Cannabis Indica normally has nine leaflets, and Cannabis Sativa seven.
Although individual leaf variations can occur, five would be an exception
and not a rule.

Would that be like finding a "4 leaf clover"?

Hmm, you're right. I knew it was an odd number, but it's been a long
time since I've seen one. Something must have made me forget it :-)

The original mnemonic was a shamrock leaf, but it's not five either.
