I am thinking about getting a Dell 300M for the great portability for my college and was wondering if the intel extreme graphics 2 is powerful enough to play most basic 3D games at the low resolution 640x480 ??

Does anyone know how fast this thing is and if it can play most 3D games like quake 3, unreal, etc.

I currently have a AMD 1.33GHz, 512MB DDR, and Geforce2 MX desktop computer and I can play most games okay. Is the intel extreme graphics 2 on the dell 300m faster than the desktop geforce 2 mx?

intel extreme graphics 2 should be faster than the gf2mx slightly, make sure you get the xga screen on that 300m so that you can run more games at it's native resolution, it looks better and is faster that way.

I agree about the GF2MX. In other words, Don't expect more than 2000 3DMarks in 3DMark2001SE

my friend laptop with a gf2mx scored 1400+ in 3dmark2001se.

is the Intel Extreme Graphics 2 can run 3dmark2003.
I hope they can, never tr it yet.
