The line that you want to pay attention to the most is LEBBLE 0520DPMW. This is called the stepping of the cpu. The most important part is the 0520. That is the week it was made. You can do various searches online for that week to see how that chip performed/overclocked. As for the rest I really don't have a clue I think it's the "batch" but I'm not really sure. It's all luck if you happen to get a good chip. The numbers aren't set in stone but they can be a good reference point. Just do some searches for "best venice stepping" or "3200+ stepping".

I pretend to know what I'm talking about.

Reply to theholylancer

I'm not sure, just another part of the stepping - All you need to worry about is the production date '0520'.

And do you edit every single post?

Yeah, I heard that all the Universities in the UK only operate 64 bit programs now, and need to use cool and quiet - honest. Anything but a Athlon64 could cause you to lose marks or even cause you to fail your course!

The stock fan was driving me nuts with its jet noise.

Either should be fine. Use 4 & 2, because they are closer to the chip.
