Wow, been a LONG time since i posted last... Go figure it would be a rant that gets me back

After all the effort that many people here in the community have put in to trying to get Toms to do more Apple related Hardware reviews only iPod seems to have made a dent.

So why is it that they deside to tease us with new Software availble for the Mac?

But I'm not, so I won't. Good luck with your issue, hope it works out for you.

1, toms doesn't have to do anything for you or anyone they dont want to.

Where did we as comsumers get the idea that we have to get exactly what we want at all times from people providing services? Toms last i checked was free....So let me see if i have this right, Your complaining that a free service doesn't do everything in thr world to make you happy?

GET OVER IT!
If it does one thing for you ever....you got more then you payed for.

thanks flamers.

...anyways.

I am not complaining about a free service. I love this site.

I use Both Systems...(PC/MAC), and it drives me nuts that they don't do more for the mac. Quite frankly i was realy happy to see that they did something on mac programs.

Since there are so many flamers here its truely hard to deside what role to take in order to make some noise.

i was hopeing that more would stick up for toms to be honest.

the rant was basicly intended to get more to say they want to read reviews on mac products.

and jihiggs, So what if macs sux...its not about that, its who uses it. you think that they don't do mac reviews because people think it sux? then why the hell do they do windows? its just as bad, if not worse.

**ROFL** You've already hit the nail on the head. It's about who uses it, and no one* wants to read the reviews because no one* is using a Mac. :-p

They recently opened a new Buildabear store in my area.
When they open one for macs, this site will start giving a damn. Last time I checked, Tom's was more about hardware than jobs.

I agree, it is more about hardware.

which is wierd that they desided to review software for the mac. no?

I would rather build a mac myself too... but thats just not going to happen.

Not really, seems we have a new high end writer named David Strom. He's a bit of an Apple nut. Cant do much about apple hardware, so you do software instead.

yea, there isnt't a whole heck of alot of Mac users... its actually less then 5% if im not mistaken. but with a few million users added to the crop each year thats still a heck of a lot.

Do you feel they should just be left out becasue of a low percentage?

Are you Focking retarded?
Your asking if Toms should exclude Apple hardware because they are only at 5% of the population?

THATS EXACTLY WHY THEY SHOULD!

They have to cut off at come point and i think the point should be above 5%. Otherwise they would have to review every piece of hardware and they would be forced to review things that eleven people use.

Also....WHAT IN THE FOCK DO YOU WANT THEM TO REVIEW?!?
Game suck on Macs because they are almost always ports and not built for a mac, and you can't buld macs. you can't slap them together. The reviews they do are for people who want to know which parts are best for there system....with macs you have very little choice on what you get if any at all.

SO SHUT THE FOCK UP!
Seriously you are bittching about something you know can't happen.

Should Toms review cereal bowls because people use them? NO
Should they reveiw Anal Lube because you take it in the arse all the time? NO!
They should review hardware for computers and new technology that is assoc. with computers (Cameras, Monitors, and the like)

They are not a wholesale review site, they only review certain things so shut your mouth and google a site that will serve your needs.

If you have any quiestions i'm sure Wingding can help you. Just PM him. He knows a lot more about Macs, PCs, and everything in general then i do.

I do addmit apples OS and Video editing software does ROCK, and apples specialised software runs very smooth compared to PC, thats probably because its made for a limited amount of hardware so its more specialised for that specific hardware to run faster, thats why people with macs say they are faster on number crunching and video conversions e,t,c but being limited on hardware is apples downfall really its just not fast enough like in games and there all the same, theres no individualalty in owning a imac.

why own a standard model when you can have somthing which looks better to ur taste or faster, you cannot hotrod a IMAC but with a PC you can, thats why you have a custom PC!

What can you review of a IMAC? i can only see software and after you review 10 theres nothing left.

In a word: Yes. In two words: Most definately. In three words: Very much so. In four words: Of course they should. Etc.

As it is you hardly see anything about Linux software and there are a heck of a lot more Linux users in the world (and likely reading THG) than there are Mac users.

And if anyone goes into an extreme minority like Mac software, then why not pure Unix, BSD, BeOs, Solaris, Amiga OS, etc. ad nausium?

thanks endyen, and rx8.

rx8, you have a very good point. they are all built the same(no individuality)with all the same hardware(generally more reliable). but faster is debatable.
finding an unbias review on anything apple is next to impossible. hense my push here at toms.

with regards to gaming, yea, they are way behind. being that its UNIX based now, who knows they may end up finding a few more games on that platform now. time will tell.

I think they're loosing out on an opportunity when they made the switch to the new G5 setup when they deside to make the PCI-Ex propriatary AGAIN just like they did with the AGP.

they make it difficult for ATi and nVidia, driving the cost up and slowing everything down for themselfs and us.

the consumer was able to stay ahead of the curve before with AGP by flashing the bios and making a couple alterations to the card from what i understand...but i don't know if thats going to be possible with the PCI-Ex.

I'd like to know more here.

If it were possible, would it interest anyone here?

Well I think that vast % of posters here own and use and work on intel or AMD based machines. So it follows that the bulk of the conversation will be geared to that market.
Apple makes nice HW and the SW is a very nice varient of unix (as linux varients are as well.
If and when that combination starts to sell more heavily and users start to look for a home where they can discuss OCing , and building there own (not very mac-like lingo right)then perhaps there would be a place for them here.
Until then there will be a derth of Apple-talk (no pun intended) here I think.
PS: If apple ever gets riid of that one button mouse I might even start a thread on it my self. BTW there are 2 macs in my house now and both are folding (rather badly I might add) as we speak.

really?

thats funny cause apple likes to tout how good they are at scientific calculations.

what machines are you running if you don't mind me asking.
