iTunes install and uninstall problems

-- I have the same problem and none of the fixes at InstallShield.com work.
I have scrubbed the Registry, killed temp files all over the place, shutdown
services, etc. i have not tried to reinstall Windows Installer 'cause I
can't find an XP SP2 version at InstallShield. Anyhow, Installer seems to
work fine with anything but iTunes!

I also get an error message when I try to start iTunes after the botched
install--

"The ordinal 21 could not be located in the dynamic link library
MAPI32.dll" The title of the error frame is "iTunes.exe-Ordinal Not Found"

I have downloaded a fresh copy of iTunes and tried that. No go.

I unistalled the iPod software also thinking that it might be the culprit.
No go. Then I tried to reinstall it from the CD supplied by Apple. No go.
It tries to install both iTunes and iPod and hangs.

I run XP Home, SP2 with all updates through last Tuesday. Help would sure
be appreciated.

Did Windows Installer get corrupted somehow?
