Cannot install WebCam on Dell Inspiron 545

I need to install the drivers for the LifeCam Cinema. I am running Vista x64 on a Dell inspiron 545. When I try to install I get the error message: "The required line was not found in the INF." Each time I plug the cam in I get the found new hardware maessage. I have installed from the disk, uninstalled from control panel, reinstalled from disk, uninstalled from device manager, reinstalled from device manager, downloaded "latest" drivers, worked with MS tech, dell tech, etc. MS said it was Dell's install of Vista. Dell said it was hardware (although the same thing happened with Logitech QuickCam) and they would help resolve for $69. This machine is 3 weeks old. I am very displeased with Dell.
If anyone has a simpler suggestion, please help!
