Hands down, get the 260. The i7 will only serve to suck your battery life.

So the 2.53Ghz core duo is not going to hold the system back compared to the i7's processor power?

I was also looking at a unit with GTS 160m since it seems to be comparable to the GTX 260m.

slightly better cpu at 2.8Ghz and 6mb cache but I wasn't sure if the GTS 160m was going to hold up over time compared to the GTX 260m.

The 260 should smother the 160.

The i7 might actually be slower in games than the core 2 duo. IMO, quad-cores don't belong in mainstream and consumer notebooks. They should really be a professional-only option, as they're pretty much the only ones that will utilize 4 cores. Dual core CPUs (for now) are a much better option for notebooks.

I like asus in terms of how they sell powerful laptop with cheap price tag. But, when it comes to aesthetic, the are far behind from Dell/HP/Sony. The whole team from designing division should be fired.

I am a little hesitant to go with an Asus because I read that they underclock their GTX 260m. Either way, they DO tend to be a lot cheaper than most laptops with the GTX 260m.

I am trying to choose between the following:
