Just recently I built an AMD64 939 socket system w/ 1 gig of PC3200(400Mhz) memory. I was looking forward to possibly overclocking and was wondering if I would need to up the ante and get some 533Mhz or 500Mhz memory. Would the 500Mhz (or 533Mhz) drop down to 400Mhz if I didn't overclock? What am I looking at?

Well I just needed some decent RAM... cheap... just enough to get me up and runnin' so I went with the cheapo Corsair VALUESelect 512x2 modules. Probobly not the best, I know, but like I said just to get up and runnin'.

What would be the best bet performace wise? I was looking at some XMS or OCZ Plat PC3200. Any recommendations?

Hmmm interesting. Lucky guess. Yeah it's an ASUS board. As far as spending $$$$? So long as the two sticks don't run over $300 I'll dip into it. What's your opinion on OCZ? I heard the high end memory is actually pretty good. Same with Corsair XMS...

Please explain "the dividers". Overclocking is still seminew to me...
