I was over at the Dell forum site looking around today, when I saw threads about the Alienware PCs. Dell says the motherboards are unlocked on the Alienware PCs. From the post where people got there PCs,it looks like there not so overclock-able.

The base possessor is a i7 920 2.66 and can only be OC to 3.0. There are some very upset people who paid up wards of $1400 for a PC that Dell says can be OC.

Guess it depends on whoever is defining "overclocking." Dell's idea of overclocking is probably a lot different from those who take it to the "exteme."

most people buying dells probably have no care or need regarding overclocking.

Doesn't the i7 920 have "Turbo Boost'' or something like that where it runs around 3ghz when there is cpu load?

Also, pricing on ebay and dell.com/outlet is around $600-850 for an i7 920 system.
