I've been putting up with the motorola dct 6412 for years and I can't take anymore. We have gone through several boxes with the same results. The regular cable box works fine but the DVR recordings break up making shows unwatchable. They tried to tell me it was the wiring in my house but one technician said it was the software on the box that was incompatable.
Some shows record ok but at least 50% -70% of what I record has to be deleted. I hate cox and there stinking monopoly here in southside virginia and I want to switch to get rid of cox dvr and replace with tivo. I'm just scared in case I have the same problems.
I don't care if it records in HD or not. I just want to be able to sit down and watch a favorite show without it breaking up. It's the picture AND sound. Most of the time I use the closed captioning but sometimes the picture is so bad I can't even do that.
Do you think TIVO will solve this problem? I don't think it's the wiring or signal as the signal was checked before and the regular cox box shows live tv just fine.
