I have a Sharp Aquos bought in Japan and I am moving to europe. Will the Television work given the different voltage. And can i use a transformer to alter the voltage

As I recall Japan runs on 100volts. Europe is 230 -- most transformers cater only for 120v equipment so be a little careful and preferably get expert advice before attaching your appliances.

Have a look at the manual or back of the Sharp and see if it's designed to adapt to multiple voltages -- you may find it can cope with 120 or even 230.

Of course there may be fundamantal differences in the way TV works in Europe -- I've seen Japanese market audio equipment which suggested that TV audio was on FM.

Also, picture in Europe generally uses PAL system so check which Jap TV uses.

Europe uses SCART sockets to attach many devices (VHS/DVD/DVB) to TV -- I think this is a European standard so may not feature on Japanese market equipment.

Just to add to your woes -- even the antenna socket may be different.
