I am guessing you want to download your video to your computer for editing or perhaps archiving?
Most DV video cameras will not ship with software for capturing or editing, they often ship with user manuals ect on a cd but rarely any type of editing/downloading software.
If you are trying to put your video on your computer and are using Windows you likely already have Microsoft movie maker installed it should be as simple as plugging your camera into your computer either via firewire or USB and then using Moviemaker to manipulate it.
Moviemaker is pretty horrible for editing but it is free and probably already installed.
