I'm trying to find a printer/label maker for creating asset or property tags, preferably one that can create aluminum tags (like these: http://www.mavericklabel.com/asset-tags/)(it doesn't necessarily have to reproduce the bar code in this fashion). I'm basically wondering if it would make more sense to just order pre-printed labels or get a label maker so I can print them myself. The problem I have with pre-printed labels is if I replace a piece of equipment I can't reuse that asset number without ordering another set of tags. I'm also considering the fact that if something like the DYMO Rhino series could more or less accomplish this I could also use it for other things such as organizing cabling, etc.
Does anybody know of some good printers or label makers that could accomplish this that aren't extremely expensive? I'm looking in the range of about $200.
