Kodak DX6409 Lens Adapter

I have read about the use of additional lens on the Kodak DX6490, used with the assistance of a lens adapter. I have also been told the lens adapter can be attached by removing a "lens ring".

I have assumed the lens ring is the silver ring around the retractable lens, have not been able to work out how to remove it.

I was referred to the user manual, but cannot locate anything in there.

Any assistance would be appreciated before I spend any money buying things that I don't know how to attach.
