Hi,

I'm planning on buying a new notebook (Acer Travelmate 8005LMi). Since my field of work is very memory intensive, I considered going with 2x1024MB of PC2700 (333MHz) RAM. But I've heard that most of the available modules run pretty unstable in a lot of notebooks.

Does anybody here have experience with this combination (1024MB/PC2700 modules in notebook)? Any recommendations?

Sure have not had many problems with our memory in laptops. I am not too sure about what you have heard but we don't have any issues. Most of the issues you might find are either software related or operator head space and timing. :eek:

Well, I received a call from the shop where I ordered my notebook. They told me that they had lots of problems with the 1024MB modules and would advice to go with PC2100 instead of PC2700.

After I insisted on the latter, they ordered a different brand (Samsung, they didn't say what they had before) and will check those with the TravelMate and then get back to me...
