I need to buy an air pruifier for my apartment and the one I want to get is called the SHARP FP-N60CX Plasmacluster Air Purifier. This purifier emits positive and negative ions. Would this be harmfull to my computer in any kind of way?

Not particularly harmful to your computer (it might make it dustier if charged particles cling to your grounded computer components, but neglible), but it would be harful to your lungs and ineffective at cleaning the air. Do a consumer reports search on Ozone and Ion generators.

Get an air filtration system with a real filter and a fan, not some stupid ionic wind static cling piece of crap that generates useless ionized gasses and harmful ozone.

my roommate had an ionic breeze in our dorm, it did a good job cleaning the air, and did not damage any of our electronic equitment... of course we had it there so we could smoke in the room so i can't comment on any negitive respritory effects
